E. Hastings, MODE., 13 Hayward Place”; an inked note found in bottom of box reading April 1867, Mrs. L. S. Dabney’s (?).

Bonnet, 1825 US (probably), the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Dark green silk lined with white silk. Wooden sticks shape brim forward beyond face. Padded with cotton. Long brown and white silk ribbon ties. Slits in lining, brown stains on ties, but green silk in generally good condition.

Hello? I am working on a RP setting, and a culture in which a woman's influence depends on her marital status and if she has children. (Basically: Unmarried < Married < Married + child < Married + (#) children) These positions are supposed to be distinguished clothing and jewellery - jewellery being very important. I was wondering if you or your followers have any knowledge on the matter or sources I could use for researching for distinguishing factors. Thank you. :) nucleartuna
